Peter Pan

 In Archive

Early in August, the voices of OOTB joined an orchestra as instruments. This was for the world premiere of Peter Pan, a ballet performed by On Pointe Productions with Ryley Gillen as the artistic director. He had commissioned William Yaxley to write the music and Tori Van Opstal was the choreographer. The results was truly magical. Such a different experience for our girls who had to watch conductor Ryley carefully as he brought us in to join the other instruments when it was our turn.  Our part was to accompany with all manner of sounds and sound effects – quite a challenge to learn, but such a rewarding experience. We were sitting under the stage, so could hear the dancers, but couldn’t see any of the ballet.  Luckily, there is a video!
