The Events

In July, OOTB took to the stage for two nights at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre as the choir in the Belvoir St Theatre production of The Events. This is a play about the aftermath of a shooting in a community choir. Set at a subsequent rehearsal, the play revolves around the director of the choir, a church minister, who is coming to terms with what happened and reconciling it with her faith, beliefs and ideals. The choir in the story is a local group who have been invited to participate but are not given much information about the script, other than the songs that will be sung. Their reactions are therefore more natural as the minister and a young man, representing the slice of society who are motivated to perform these acts of violence and destruction, grapple with the issues.  A great experience for our girls!!
